Ex-Oracle Vice President to head up Magia Solutions
Magia Solutions is embarking on a new path with the appointment of Surend Dayal to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment of Mr Dayal comes at a critical time in Magia’s 13-year history, as it looks to expand business opportunities both at home and abroad.
Mr Dayal said, “Magia is a company that has been built from the ground up, and I see real potential in leveraging Magia’s position as the most qualified CX partner for Oracle in the Australia/New Zealand region.”
“With a recorded growth within the company of 38 per cent last year, my focus is to continue to build on those excellent results, particularly over the next three years,” Mr Dayal said.
“I’ve already identified Magia as having a solid foundation with a reputation for innovation, rigour and producing quality results for clients.
It was simply an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, and I’m looking forward to leading the company into new markets and regions across the globe.”
Steve Solomon will take on a new challenge in the company, taking on the role of Executive Chairman in addition his role as Chief Financial Officer.
“Being at the helm has been a privilege, but this is an obvious step in the right direction for the future or Magia,” Mr Solomon said.
“Mr Dayal brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience having held positions including ten years at Oracle – most recently as Vice Present Public Sector Australian/New Zealand, and prior to that, the CEO and President of Ruleburst/Haley before its acquisition by Oracle.”
“Of note, he established the Oracle Policy Automation solution and is also a senior lecturer in I.T. law at the Australian National University.”
“I have no doubt he will build on the foundations set by the Magia team including Chief Technology Officer Peter Crew and Chief Operating Officer Chis Hinds and I welcome him aboard.”
Mr Dayal will be based in Magia’s Canberra office and take up the reins from 19 August 2019.
